If I could pick the most magical horse show, although Quito had many, it would be Harrisburg 2010. I was overwhelmed with the pressure. He was the only horse I showed at indoors and it is difficult showing just one. But, it is true how one can rise to the occasion sometimes. Quito was 100 percent. I could focus on watching the super stars and it all came together. After winning a class at Capitol Challenge I was so excited for the horse that I just kept going. No spurs, he just walked indoors as if he owned the place. We had a fabulous fall season that year staying with Tony Workman and Tom Brennan and Lynn Rice’s barn in VA. Many great people, great help and great pasture for Quito. The Franktown Meadows stand - alone Derbies are an equal favorite! It is like riding at no other horse show. Beautiful natural grass, perfect courses and great competitors. The hosts and management make this a special special horse show. Derbies were just getting started at that time and it was quite something to win twice in a row.
Looking back at Quito’s record I am so grateful for all the show managers promoting the conformation divisions and Derbies we attended! Each horse show is very special including: Middleburg National, Blenheim, Showpark, L.A. National, Wilsonville, Colorado Horse Park, Evergreen, Oregon High Desert Classics and Hits.
